Fear, money, and anxiety are not separate problems, they often feed each other. We sit in Luke 12 where Jesus speaks with both edge and comfort: stop fearing people as if they hold your life, and learn the kind of fear that actually makes you free. We talk through what “fear of the Lord” means in everyday terms, why people-pleasing can become a serious enemy of discipleship, and how God’s authority is never detached from God’s care.

From there, the conversation turns to finances and the story Jesus tells about the rich fool who builds bigger barns and calls it security. We connect that parable to modern abundance, self-storage culture, retirement planning, and the quiet way possessions can become identity. The key question isn’t “Is saving wrong?” It’s “What am I trusting, and what am I preparing for?” We also share why generosity is more than a budget line, it’s a spiritual practice that trains our hearts to live “rich toward God.”

Then Jesus names what so many of us carry every week: anxiety and worry. We unpack the ravens and lilies passage as a practical argument for God’s provision, and we explore how seeking the kingdom first reshapes priorities and calms the nervous system of the soul. If you’ve ever wondered why your mind spins even when life looks “fine,” this is a grounded, hopeful place to start.

Five.

SPEAKER_01

What's up, Lifehouse family? Welcome back to the Life Talk Podcast. It is another week and we are rolling through the book of Luke. It is, and we are coming up on halfway through the book and halfway through the summer. We just had the all-star game last week, the mid-summer classic. And speaking of all-stars, I continue to be joined by an all-star crew, and I think we're being pretty consistent. We're developing a groove here. I got Jeremy Elrich, our QAQC guy, fresh off his anniversary. What's going on, man?

SPEAKER_03

What's happening? Yeah, great anniversary. Still, you know, Kathy's still decided to that I'm that I'm okay. So, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, you're not divorced after this anniversary, right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's keeping me around.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, good, good. I always say I don't want to go back to dating. So Ash and I are just like, yeah, we'll just keep sticking with this, you know. So and we got Rico restarting the new streak, continuing on. Good to have Rico back. What's going on, man?

SPEAKER_00

Hey, nothing much. I'm glad to be here. Let's keep it going and happy to be here.

SPEAKER_01

And Jonathan Bush is back with us. How's it going, Jonathan?

SPEAKER_02

It's going well.

SPEAKER_01

Summer classes, everything's good. Flying, you know, enjoying all this uh air quality we got going. How's that for flying?

SPEAKER_02

Well, right now it's not happening because of that. So as as it moves out, it's much appreciated. So the weather is hopefully for August and on will be getting better.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's hope so. Wildfire's crazy nonsense, but the podcast rolls on. We we we don't need the uh air quality to keep air in our lungs and keep talking to the listeners. But we do appreciate everybody joining us on a weekly basis. Last week we talked about hypocrisy and we had the H's going on. I'll I'll uh let Jeremy talk about the alliteration this week, but it was important things about how we need to be consistent and and what we could learn from the Pharisees and how Christ confronted those situations. But we are moving on today in chapter 12, starting with verse four. A lot to talk about with fear, and we'll even get to a major topic, anxiety, that is so prevalent in in our society today.

Fear People Less Fear God More

SPEAKER_01

But Jeremy, how can we get started taking a look at some of these verses today and and where we're headed in Luke?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, we're gonna I know you love alliteration, so we're gonna do it. I do, man.

SPEAKER_01

It's just you guys get me excited when you get some alliteration going on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So I've I've I've done you a favor, I've alliterated. So we've got uh we're gonna look at how we can be focused in the Father's care. We're gonna look at the foolishness of earthly security, and we're gonna look at how we are free and kingdom priority. But to set the stage, we had just seen in in last week in in Luke 11 how uh Jesus was at this dinner party, and as he was going out of that, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him and look for ways to catch him in something. And so he's walking out, so he's out of that dinner party, the crowds are got are pressing around, and he begins verse one of chapter 12 says that he begins to teach and say to his disciples. So we're kind of in the middle of what Jesus was saying to his disciples when we pick up in verse 4 here, and Luke, and Luke 12 places us right at one of Jesus' most pastoral and confrontational points when he's confronting the Pharisees and he's uh teaching about how you know we should uh how people who are transformed should live. Uh he speaks directly to his disciples, like I had mentioned, about fear, fear of people, fear of death, fear of rejection. And he replaces it with a deeper stabilizing fear of God. Then he exposes the anxiety that grips human hearts, reminding the listeners and us of the Father's intimate care for even the birds and the flowers and for his children. And then Jesus warns us about against false security of wealth through the parable of the rich fool. Those who the rich fool mistook abundance for safety. And he and Jesus calls his followers to a life of fearless trust, of generous living, and of kingdom first focus. So let's dive in. We're gonna first read verses four through twelve. It's Jesus says, I tell you, my friends, do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear, fear whom, fear him whom who after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Why even why even the hairs of your heads are all numbered? Fear not, you are more valuable, you are of more value than many sparrows. And I tell you, every one who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God. But the one who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God, and every one who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you will how you should defend yourself or what you should say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say. So what we see in this we'll stop here and we'll we'll we'll take a look and we'll kind of break down this passage. Jesus is redirecting fear. Don't fear those who can kill the body, fear the one who holds eternal authority. And that fear of God is not meant to terrorize believers. It's it's it's a reverent awe, a deep trust, and a kingdom loyalty to God. There is that we need to hold the Lord in reverence, we need to hold him because he is separated, he is holy, but he does care for his children. Uh God's care we can see is is is intimate when we when we see the sparrows and the hares and the disciples are valued. And confessing Christ publicly reveals true allegiance of believers. Rejecting the whole rejecting the Spirit's testimony about Jesus, a lot of people wonder about what is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. But what Jesus says is like rejecting the Spirit's testimony about him is the blasphemy that leads to true judgment. So I will stop and and a lot and see what you all thought about this section.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a whole lot to unpack here. And and like you said, it's funny, he says fear, but then he says don't fear. And so we're like, oh, is Jesus being inconsistent? But no, it's don't fear man, but truly have a reverence. And we get into a lot of times like what is you know, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but it's that deep understanding of who God is and that he is a holy righteous God. So there should be a level of understanding of who we are and who he is, and that's what makes a lot of changes in our life, right? It's it's hugely important in in our full understanding, I'd say.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, the the fear itself, it's it's not that fear in and itself is wrong, because there are things we should fear. You know, fear naturally, the body, physiologically, the the body when when you're fearful, there are things that happen to help protect you, you know, like you become more attentive, you become hyper-focused, you know, as in in aviation, we talk about stress. Well, I don't want you to have no stress, I just want you to have the healthy stress, not not the negative stress. And I think part of what we have here is is that Jesus, what he does is he just refocuses on, well, you there are things to fear, but this is what should be feared, and this is what should not be feared. Because in in our earthly eyes, a lot of times we fear what what we don't understand when really when we see behind it what's going on, it's like, well, that's nothing. God has me covered on that. Whereas other things like you know, blasphemy the Holy Spirit, that's a done deal.

SPEAKER_01

I think it'll tie a lot to anxiety that we're gonna get to in your third point. So we won't get too far ahead, but a healthy fear, anxiety, that's what is involved in that a lot of times.

SPEAKER_00

So I can help but think about what these verses of scripture meant and how we can apply it now, because it's very relevant when we state that the replacement of the fear of people and the fear of God. So two biblical world, I mean two worldviews. The worldview of the biblical side and the worldview on the worldly side. So I when I put myself in this text and I'm thinking about when I was not a believer, and but know about God and everything that I did, I know that I should be fearing God, but I didn't. I was like, okay, what he's gonna do about it, right? Because I didn't have the relationship, but as soon as we came into Christ, he came into our hearts. This is about the grace that he has for us. And I cannot express the meaning of this of how intimate you have to be in reverence towards our God, because fear is something that equivalents to reverence. It's not that oh, I'm afraid of him. We know what we can he can do. If we spend time in scripture, we know what he can do to the people of disobedience, but the reverence is what is the vital point in here that relationship with our Maker is to be in a position that a don't worry about what people can do or what they're going to say, but care more about what I have to say because it's not your mind, you belong to me. So it's kind of like what you're saying, eh? Being a natural and supernatural, two different worldviews, biblical worldview supernaturally, worldly worldview naturally. So this right here speaks volumes, is where he teaches the disciples, hey, don't fear men, but fear the one fear the one who made everything possible to bring back the relationship between two.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and Jesus, you know, that to add on because I completely agree with you, Rico, is that Jesus is saying, fear God so deeply that lesser fears lose their grip, right? Like, and when when the greatest fear is rightly placed, the smaller fears fall become either not fears or they fall into order, right? You know, you know, the fear of God displaces the fear of man, like you're saying. Yeah. And uh what we can also see is that Jesus isn't telling us that danger isn't real, he's set telling us that God is more real. Like God is but God is bigger than than the thing than the fear of man. And what I one one other thing that I kind of like was thinking about contemplating on this topic was that fear, the fear of people, is one of the greatest enemies of discipleship. And only God can can can break through that. Fear of God can break through that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, too much people pleasing, you know. Bible says don't seek man's empty praise. That's a big one, and I think we fall into that, especially social media culture, getting into comparisons, all of those things. Yeah, exactly. Like you say, when we're uh more hung up on what man thinks than God thinks, it's a big enemy of discipleship and being who God wants us to be.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, and that to Rico's point is the difference between earthly eyes and you know spiritual eyes, you know, understanding the scene for what it is, you know.

SPEAKER_03

So Well, we're gonna move

The Rich Fool And False Security

SPEAKER_03

on. We're gonna look at the next section, verses thirteen to twenty one, where we're gonna see the foolishness of earthly security. So the ch verse thirteen says, Someone in the crowd said to him, Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me. But he said to him, Man, who made me a judge or arbiter over you? And he said to them, Take care and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions. And he told them a parable, saying, The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, What shall I do? For I have nowhere to store my crops And he said, I will do this, I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods, and I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years, relax, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said to him, Fool, this night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be? So is the one who lays up treasures for himself and is not rich towards God. What Jesus is teaching us here in this passage is that you know we see a man that demands Jesus settle an inheritance dispute. We can see this as revealing greed and not a proper attitude towards justice or possessions. Jesus warns that life does not consist of the abundance of possessions. Then Jesus tells us this parable about the rich fool who planned bigger barns and and longer comfort, but he ignores the most important thing. He ignores eternity, and God calls him fool and prepared and he because he has prepared everything except for meeting God. True security is not found in possessions, it's found in being rich towards God, is what Jesus is teaching. And you know, sometimes people can spend decades preparing for retirement, and that's not a bad thing. Like it being, you know, being wise with your money is not a bad thing, but they but they can also only spend minutes preparing for eternity. And Jesus' parable exposes that imbalance with you know honestly brutal clarity.

SPEAKER_01

So relevant, all of this passage, every point we're touching on, very, very applicable to you know the US society that we are in for sure. And we know all of the Bible is, but just seeing so much of this, and to your point, we live in an abundant society, possibly one of the most abundant societies ever in the history of the world. And that's what I think makes this very easy for people to get hung up on is stuff. And it was a thing I heard one time. So if you had to like make an icon of like kind of what the US culture is all about, it would be self-storage. We literally have to build self-storage facility after self-storage facility because we just have so much stuff we can't even fit it in our homes half the time. And not diminishing self-storage, or if you have some because you move or various things, like there's a place for it, but the amount of demand just sows exactly what you pointed out in this passage of the abundance of possessions. That's not who we are, and creates so many identity issues, whether it's the money, like you said, in retirement, possessions, houses, all these things where we create comparisons and it's a lot of problems. This has always been an impactful parable for me. And and my favorite book of the Bible is Ecclesiastes, which says all of that is gonna be vanity if that's what you're putting as a priority.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we need to like to add on to your to what you're saying is like we like we, especially in our culture, need to resist the lie that more possessions equals more security.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the part of I mean, culturally, why do you say for retirement? It's because you want to, you know, at some point your income's gonna stop or it's gonna decrease, and you want to make sure you can keep providing, right? But and and some of that is I think because we've isolate, you know, the way the family works nowadays. It used to be as as uh as you got older, you know, it was kind of expected you'd had a family that could take care of you, but you know, nowadays we we don't have that. And so just again, it gets back to the heart of of what you're looking to is I'm looking to I'm taking care of myself, not trusting God that He's gonna give me the resources I need. And a lot of times with finances, it comes back to is just being satisfied with what you got. We got so much, and people go, Well, I don't have anything. And it's like, I mean, I know pilots that make 500,000 that are that are broke because they're spending 600,000 every year. And you know, for a variety of reasons, you know. So, but yet I know individuals who make maybe you know a tenth of that and are are satisfied and and and have a fairly large family and and they're making it and they aren't in debt, you know. And so I I think again, it's it shows that it is the you know, it's a perspective shift. You know, we we get used to being seeing what's around us and thinking, oh, I need to have that now. And and that's not what God teaches us. God doesn't teach us, he teaches us to wait on him. You know, there's there's a a natural order of of how life works that you know, I think like getting back to the examples of you know, think of a sparrow and and and the fields and and flowers and things like that, like God made us to enjoy him, he provides for us, but then also there's that that's we we rely on him. Like I'm never gonna not need God.

SPEAKER_00

It's amazing how scripture saw our life today as it was then because this passage you can fit right this into our society, as you mentioned. Let's look at this the parable of a rich fool. Right? So automatically start with self. Self, I, I, I, I, I need to do this for security. I need wealth for security. You mentioned we are consumers now. Everything that we want, if we can afford, we get it. If we know that we can get it, but we can afford it later, we're gonna do that. You mentioned something very clever, something that it happens to me. And if you have heard my testimony, I speak about this very principle principle because of the fact that that was what I was about in my early career. I want to seek wealth, have my 401k, putting money in my 401k, and I'm like, man, this is for my retirement. Uh I'm gonna do this. I'm in the military and I'm saving my already in my money. And thank you, Lord, praising the Lord, right? And life hits. And everything that I strive for for my future, it ends up in less than three months because I was separated for the military, I'm medically retired, and I had to go ahead and pull out my 401k. I didn't have the resources anymore, I had to find a new job, etc. etc. And we come to this passage and we can see the covetousness of people. Like, hey, my brother has this, I want that. Tell him to do that to me. And this comes really, really into what I have been studying. And for you guys that are listening, I recommend to uh include this passage of scripture with Colossians 3. I've been in Colossians 3 for 30 days, and it's crazy how in Colossians 3 the Lord tells us set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. But then he goes ahead, and then he mentioned what we have to cut off from that, and he gave us some instructions that this is what you dealt with, and one of those is covetousness, what we see in chapter 12 in the verses that we are studying right here in Luke. So, what does that tell us? It tells us that scripture is very relevant that when we put I in the mix, we're removed the amazing things that Jesus wants to do through us. He mentions that everything under the sun is vanity. I experience that to the full effect, but the grace of him but the restoration is what we're gonna go through, the different passages. It gives you the perspective that hey, this is the thing that happened then. And if you open your eyes in society, what's happening, it quadrupling that now, there's much something to do about it in what we're going to be talking about.

SPEAKER_03

One of the things to add on to what you said, Rico, is like the idea of being rich towards God, and what is that? And one of the ways is practicing generosity can can declare our trust and help help show our trust in the Lord. When we're focused on greed and possessions, it shrinks our world to what we have. Trusting and gener and it expands our world to what God's world and what what what he wants it to be.

SPEAKER_02

It needs to be a two-way, an open two-way street there with what's going on with the resources.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I was going to say Jonathan and I are the financial peace guys. So we're not going to tell you not to be good with your money and save for retirement, but when you're sacrificing generosity, like you're talking about, and that's your main goal in life and where you're establishing your worth, then that's where you're upside down and out of priority. So I would encourage, it was back last August, I think Jonathan and I sat down and had a pretty in-depth conversation. So encourage people if you'd like to hear more on that, go back in the archives and check that one out. It was hear a little bit more of Jonathan's testimony, too.

SPEAKER_00

I think you guys both both bring a great point. The Financial Peace Financial Peace is one that I encourage. If you're hearing this, uh you better sign out for the next class. Because as you heard my testimony, I thought I have it all. I had the saving account, I had the 401k, but I was never a giver. I wanted to be a collector. And I never felt more free until he removed everything from me to build myself back up and put me in a position in order for me to serve, to give. And I never felt better that to give more than keep it for myself. So what we're study now, even though you're hearing this through us, is self-explanations that we I'm speaking for myself, went through this vividly. That the previous point, the fear of God, is the reverence to do exactly what He commanded us to do, which is better to give than to receive.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely. Let's move on to our our our third point here.

Anxiety Replaced By Kingdom Priority

SPEAKER_03

We we can we're gonna look at freedom in kingdom priority in verses twenty-two through thirty-four. And Jesus said to his disciples, therefore, I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, or nor about what about your body, what you will put on. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens, they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouses nor barn, and yet God feeds them of how much more value are you than the birds? And which of you, by being anxious, can add a single hour to his lifespan? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? Consider the lilies, how they grow they neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried for all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and all these things will be added to you. Fear not, little flock for it is your father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with money bags that do not grow old, with a treasure in heaven that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will also will your heart be also. So Jesus shifts his teaching from greed to anxiety, which honestly are almost two sides of the same coin. You know, if we're we are if we're always if we can't get enough, we're gonna be anxious about getting enough, right? If we feel it, if that's the that that's what we feel. And ravens and lilies become this argument for God's care. And ravens are actually like an unclean animal. Like we see that in the Bible, and even God God cares about them, even. And so it's like if God cares about that, how much more does he care about you? Um, anxiety we see is an unproductive, unnecessary, and unworthy of God's children. And we're told to seek his kingdom, which reframes our priorities and and should and dissolve, and when when we're seeking his kingdom, we'll dissolve fear. I heard this a lot while I was studying for this, I heard this this quote, and I haven't been able to fully attribute it to to a person, but it it it kind of stuck with me is like worry is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it really gets you nowhere. You're gonna you're not going anywhere with it. Nice. So and Jesus replaces that worry in the it with with with true with an idea or a teaching about what is true worship.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, again, all of the topics we've touched on, I mean, how much we're dealing with anxiety in our society despite the abundance. And so I think all of these points really tie well together that it's a fear, it's a fear of the wrong things that brings anxiety or putting your worth and your identity in possessions and things, because now you're worried. If I lose these, if I don't have them, who am I? You know, and that's what brings anxiety. And I think, again, social media, all of these things in our culture, where we're trying to find identity and ascribe worth in different areas is what's then bringing that anxiety. And kind of to your point, like the rocking chair, I think I heard a thing. It's like anxiety and hope are both opinions about the future. You know, anxiety is worrying about something that is going to happen, but you're afraid of it, versus a hope is something that is going to happen, but I am hopeful, I am looking forward to it. So when we fear God, when we are finding our worth in Christ and we are trusting Him, why do we need to be anxious about anything? You know, so I think, and so many people I'm sure listening probably deal with anxiety, you know, have myself and career and things. And it's like, don't want to diminish, like struggles are real, and so we don't want to put anybody or make you feel unworthy, but the more you lean into Christ, the less anxious you will be.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think that we can like I'm gonna stop for a minute and it's like none of us here, and we all we've all struggled with it. 100% we all struggle, like you know, you mean you guys aren't 100% holy? What's wrong with you guys? This is the use of this is an encouragement to you know to us and to uh and to all you who are listening.

SPEAKER_01

It's just that when we talk, we're talking to ourselves and everybody is listening.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, just we're having a conversation with ourselves you know, with the four of us.

SPEAKER_02

But you know, like you said, leaning to Christ. I mean, his word too gives us promises, like Philippians 4, 6 and 7 says, don't be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and petition, present your request to God, and what does he give? And the peace of God will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. So it's not just, oh, you got to be a better Christian. But what he's telling you, you know, in Philippians is is no, I get it, you're gonna be anxious, you're gonna have things you're gonna worry about, you're gonna look and see, you know, the enemy out there or the challenge or whatever it may be, to you know, and and go, you know, it's kind of like uh when uh Peter stepped off the boat and started sinking, Lord help me, right? Because he realized I can't walk on water. But it's realizing that in Christ all things are possible. And and so even as a mature Christian or someone that's been a Christian for a while, it it's not you you're gonna have times where you're gonna realize I'm walking on water. But at that point, it's not like, oh, I can't do that. It's well, God, please help me continue to continue on with what what you're enabling me to do.

SPEAKER_00

It's amazing how you you guys mentioned something so relevant that we speak into ourselves, right? And and this brings me back to my regular stories on Colossians 3. Don't know why, but this is the reason why. But let's diagnosis the examples that Jesus used. For instance, the birds, and he does that analogy that even to this day I can see. And and I give you a little 15-second scenario on that. I have birds that come to my backyard every day because I have been feeding them, so they expect that to be there. So my obligation is like, well, if I don't do this, they're not gonna be eating, but at the same time, they don't worry about that. Hey, I'm the one who provides for them, and he uses me to do that. Somebody who's very conscious, right? And what Luke says here that hey, seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. This is very relevant to our different passages of scripture, and we have we have heard it before in Matthew 6, and in Matthew 6 33, it mentioned seek the things that are above, and I'm gonna give you five alliterations that come with that. Oh man, five so if you are taking notes, I want to bless you real quick. And I want you to do some study about this, and it's in Matthew 6, uh, from verses 25 to 32. We're not gonna go in details, but there's some alliterations in there uh when it says about worry. What we need not to worry about, I'm gonna tell you why. Worry is inconsistent, worry is irrational, worry is ineffective, worry is illogical. Last one, worry is irreligious. So the note here to avoid worrying, get back to what we be talking about, we need a system or priority. And what is that priority? Seek first the kingdom or heaven and everything will be added unto you. And I mentioned Colossians 3, in which the first verse it tells you if you are listening to that to this and you are a believer, this will apply to you if you take this in consideration, if then you were raised with Christ, six of those things which are above where Christ is, that is at the right hand of God. So one of the good uh great stories about when you have your devotional, it's not just to read a chapter, it's not just to listen to this and be like, okay, make it clear for me. It's the passages that come after that, and the revelation that the word of God is so relevant that we can find in scripture that worry is not something that a believer should go through. And again, we now don't disclose that you might be going through worry right now. And sometimes we worry right about stuff that can happen, but knowing that he's in control, we got feelings for a reason, but we have the security of God that if we seek those things that are above, everything, peace will be adding on to the grace, it will be adding onto you, provision will be adding unto you, grace will be added unto you, everything that he already said it is finished, will be provided to you, back to you.

Yeah, I mean so much to talk about in this passage, but uh you know, what we we probably need to I was gonna say, we could spend a whole episode on any one of these, but you know, for our listeners, we hope these comments were helpful.

Final Takeaways And Listener Challenge

SPEAKER_01

You know, again, would encourage you to dig into, you know, especially this passage, passages in in some depth, you know, based on what you may be struggling with, whether it's fear, whether you're struggling with some identity or greed or or finding your worth in different places, or again, we know everybody's battling some anxiety. And I'll just kind of leave with one of the things I heard that was good is like where you're anxious the most is often where you trust God the least. And I think that's important. That's good. Had this conversation um with a lady in our church this week. You know, we come to Christ and we trust him with salvation, and then it's a journey to continue to lean in to give him our career and our family and various areas of our life. But if we are anxious, it should encourage us to pause and like, what in my life am I not trusting the Lord? That's good. So, listeners, we appreciate you joining us. Thanks for taking some time. Again, we hope this encourages you, getting you into God's word, who we are, our identity in Christ. Don't be anxious about anything. God cares for you, He loves you in Christ. We have salvation. We will look forward to seeing you next time.
